During Sydney's New Years Eve Fireworks you will want to find advantage spots to view the fireworks. There are managed areas where security control the amount of persons entering the areas. Each area has a limited number of people who can enter each area.

Mrs Maquarie Chair
The best view out of any of the advantage spots is Mrs Macquarie Chair or Macquaire Point. If you get there early it will give you a excellent view of the harbour bridge overlooking the opera house. The disadvantage of this area is that the park is divided into two levels. The bottom level is the quickest to fill generally in the early morning. The top of the park view is obstructed with trees that line the road in the top of the park you watch the fireworks through the trees. With a small section at the top giving a clear view of the fireworks. Mrs Macquarie chair gives you an excellent view of the harbour.

Sydney Opera House
The Sydney Opera House gives you a great view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the firworks to the right of the harbour. If you are unable to get the front of the opera house  you will not be able to view the fireworks to the right.

Harbour Cruises.
The ultimate in New Years Eve is taking a cruise on Sydney harbour. Enjoy a cruise onboard one of Sydney's cruises. If you are planning to visit Sydney for New Years Eve, you must book New Years Eve Cruises well in advance approx six months (6) in advance.

Special Ticket events
Throughout the city there are special ticket events where you can purchase tickets for the special spectator events for the evening. These special ticketed events give you entry to some of the best advantage spots for Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks.

Blues Point: Blues Point is an area that is on the western side of the Harbour Bridge. Sitting at Blues Point you will see the Harbour Bridge with the Opera House in the distance. The fireworks from the bridge will let off on the other side of the bridge from where you can view. The Rocks:
Down at the end of the rocks you will gain a view of the fireworks. The Rocks is generaly very croweded as the rocks is an area where the local pubs are.
